Everything you need to know about the new foundation-based structure
The new course structure
Starting February 2026, we're moving to 3 Brazilian Zouk tracks with a foundation-based approach and 3 additional courses to customise your journey:
Brazilian Zouk Essentials
Fridays 19:00 - 20:00 | 4 months
Master the 10 Brazilian Zouk fundamentals. For complete beginners and anyone wanting to strengthen their basics.
Brazilian Zouk Foundations
Fridays 20:15 - 21:15 | 4 months
Includes: FREE access to Essentials
Continue building your foundation with advanced footwork, variations, and technique. This is where committed students spend the most time - and that's intentional.
Brazilian Zouk Beyond Foundations
Tuesdays 20:15 - 21:15 | 4 months
Includes: FREE access to Foundations + Essentials
Head movements, advanced body mechanics, and deeper technique. Higher expectations. Assessment required for students coming from Foundations.
Lambada
Tuesdays 19:00 - 20:00 | 4 months
Requires previous Lambada experience or our Brazilian Zouk Essentials track + Lambada Foundations bootcamp prior to join.
Brazilian Zouk Solo Lab
Fridays 21:30 - 22:30 | 4 months
Open to anyone comfortable with the 10 Brazilian Zouk foundations. This course is highly recommended to combine with our Foundations and Beyond Foundations tracks.
Brazilian Zouk Invitational Lab
Tuesdays 21:30 - 22:30 | 4 months
Max 6 couples | Invitation only
Must register for and commit to Beyond Foundations too
Small group mentorship for our most motivated students. Invitation-based or upon request with assessment + written motivation.
Access down
When you register for a the following tracks, you automatically get FREE access to all foundation courses below it:
Foundations students → can join our Essentials track for free
Beyond Foundations students → can join our Foundations AND Essentials tracks for free
Invitational Lab students required to combine with Beyond Foundations → with that, you can also join our Essentials and Foundations tracks for free.
This means more opportunities to train your foundations without paying extra. You're getting more for your investment, not less.
What’s your fit?
Here's where you land based on your current level:
Current Level 1 -> You’re ready to sign up for our Foundations track! With this, you get free access to the Essentials track, too.
Current Level 2 or 3 -> Register for Foundations (includes free Essentials access). Want to move to Beyond Foundations? Request an assessment with Lisa.
Current Level 4 (completed once in Fall 2025) -> Register for Foundations or request an assessment with Lisa to see which track fits best.
Current Level 4 (done twice or more) -> Register for Beyond Foundations. We strongly recommend joining all three tracks (Beyond Foundations allows free access to Foundations and Essentials).
Current Level 5 -> Register for Beyond Foundations.
Want to join the Invitational Lab? Request assessment + submit written motivation.
About the assessments
Let's be clear: assessments aren't tests. They're 10 - 15 minute feedback sessions where you dance with two of our teachers and get personalized guidance on what to focus on next.
There's no pass or fail. If we recommend spending more time in our Foundations track before moving to Beyond Foundations, that's guidance to help you succeed, not judgment.
