Gui & Paloma: Behind What You Can See ✨
📅 Saturday 18 & Sunday 19 April 2026
A Brazilian Zouk weekender with 6 hours of exploring the invisible elements that shape clarity, comfort and creativity in dance, beyond steps, patterns and visible form.
This weekend is all about how the body organizes itself before movement, how connection is regulated, and how musicality and expansion can grow from a place of clarity and ease. You’ll dive into alignment, perception, subtle regulation, musical contrast and integrated flow, creating more freedom in your dance without losing comfort or clarity.
We are keeping this event intimate to ensure personal attention, depth, and a focused learning atmosphere.
🌀 The program
DAY 1 - Regulation, alignment & perception
How the body organizes itself before movement
Part 1 - Neutral Body & Grounded Alignment
We begin by exploring the neutral body as a state of availability rather than rigidity.Through solo and partnered work, we focus on grounding, axis, breath awareness and weight perception.
• Neutral body: axis, grounding, breath and weight
• Functional alignment of spine, pelvis, shoulders and arms
• Presence in connection without overload
• Partner practices to recognize and adjust toward clarity and comfort
Part 2 - Invisible Adjustments & Regulation
Listening beneath the visible dance
This class focuses on subtle, often unseen adjustments that regulate connection and communication. Attention is placed on intention, tone, breath and minimal directional information.
• Micro-adjustments in posture, positioning and contact
• Breath and tone as tools for regulation
• Effort vs. conscious tone
• Non-verbal leading & following exercises
DAY 2 - Exploration, musicality & creation
When regulation becomes expression
Part 3 - Musical Contrast & Dynamic Choice
From sound to movement quality
We explore contrast through musicality.
How different musical textures, rhythms and accents invite changes in movement quality, timing and intention.
• Listening to musical layers and phrasing
• Contrast in dynamics
• Translating musical information into movement choices
• Staying regulated while expanding musical interpretation
Part 4 - Expansion, Flow & Integrated Freedom
Creating possibilities without losing clarity
The final class integrates alignment, regulation and musical contrast into traveling and circular movement.
Expansion becomes a consequence of preparation, not force.
• Traveling and direction changes with comfort
• Circular movement and spatial expansion
• Final integration: alignment, regulation, musicality and flow
